FlyMeNow was happy to play cupid when a young man asked for its help as he drew up elaborate plans to propose to his girlfriend.

The suitor wanted the perfect setting to pop the question and had booked a hotel in the heart of the countryside for a surprise engagement party, inviting all their friends along.

And he wanted FlyMeNow to play its part by flying him and his young lady in to the hotel by helicopter.

It would be a night-time arrival, so the company had to get landing lights set up near the hotel.

The couple were picked up by chauffeur driven car from central Birmingham to a heliport, from where they were whisked to the hotel.

FlyMeNow does not know the eventual outcome, but hopes that such a supreme effort suitably impressed the lady.

Commercial director Andrew Whitney says that, while the company's core customer base may be business executives travelling to meetings, FlyMeNow has a growing number of customers who want to book a flight for romantic or purely fun reasons.

"Could there be a better, more romantic way of getting engaged, or of celebrating a silver or golden wedding, than taking your loved one up on a once-in-a-lifetime trip on a private plane or helicopter?" he said.
