WHAT'S a chap to do when he really wants to impress his blind date?
Flowers? No, too obvious. A meal out? OK, but hardly original. Well how about flying her out to Paris on a private plane to visit a jazz club?
That was what one FlyMeNow customer decided he wanted to do – and the company was well up to the romantic challenge.
It arranged for a chauffeur-driven limo to whisk the couple from London to Southend airport, where the private jet awaited.
Thanks to FlyMeNow, a boxed red rose, Veuve Clique champagne and Belgian chocolates were awaiting the couple on the plane. The 75-minute flight to Le Bourget took them over the centre of Paris, giving the couple a clear view of the illuminated Eiffel Tower, Notre Dame and Sacre Coeur.
On arrival, they were met by another chauffeur-driven car and taken to a restaurant for a romantic meal, before going on to a jazz club in a quiet back street.
They flew back to Stansted at 2.30am.
And was the young lady suitably impressed? She couldn't fail to be. The date ended with the chauffeur dropping her off at her front door, before taking home the organiser of the evening, a perfect gentleman.
Operations manager Rick Beasley says this is the sort of challenge that FlyMeNow relishes. "It's the personal touch," he says. "We can organise things down to the finest detail – from the chauffeur-driven limo to the airport to flowers on the plane.
"It's something you would never get on a scheduled commercial airline, where passengers are just treated like cattle."
